Easter Basket Ideas That Are Meaningful, Useful, and Fun
Easter is one of my favorite seasons of the year. From the excitement of spring weather to the sacred beauty of Easter Sunday, this season feels especially meaningful in our home. It’s a time to celebrate new life, gather as a family, and remember the redeeming love of Christ.
When it comes to Easter baskets, I try to approach them with the same intention. Rather than filling baskets with lots of one-time toys, I aim for a thoughtful mix of meaningful, useful, and fun items — things my children will enjoy now, use in the months ahead, and hopefully remember as part of our family’s Easter traditions.
This year, I’m sharing what I put together for my tween girl and toddler boy, along with ideas you can easily adapt for your own family.
Personalized Easter Baskets That Feel Special Year After Year
One of my favorite ways to make Easter baskets feel extra special is through personalization. Simple touches like embroidered basket sashes, name tags, or monograms instantly elevate a basket and turn it into something that feels keepsake-worthy.
This year, our basket sashes were made by Abbie and Kate Embroidery, and I love how they add charm while still feeling classic and timeless. Personalized details like these can be reused year after year, making them a sweet tradition rather than a one-time decoration.
When choosing baskets, I always look for something sturdy and neutral enough to grow with my kids. A well-made basket can be used for Easter morning, spring decorating, toy storage, or even seasonal organization long after the holiday has passed. Click here for the wreath sashes!

I got my baskets at a local boutique, but here are some of my favorite easter baskets! Check out Shop Molly Ellen for more adorable baskets!
A Summer-Ready Easter Basket Theme
One tradition I’ve come to love is using Easter baskets as a soft launch into summer. With school almost out and beach trips on the horizon, I often include sandals, swimsuits, pool toys, or outdoor activities.
It feels practical, exciting, and helps avoid buying things twice later in the season. Plus, the kids love knowing their baskets are setting the tone for what’s ahead.
I also just discovered Lolly Crayons! Lauren makes the cutest custom crayons for every occasion!
A Meaningful Touch: Faith-Centered Easter Basket Gifts
I always like to include one meaningful item in my children’s Easter baskets — something that gently points them back to the true reason we celebrate Easter.
One of my favorite additions this year is a WellHouse prayer cross, handmade by survivors of human trafficking who are rebuilding their lives through The WellHouse recovery program. Including something like this feels especially appropriate for Easter, serving as a reminder of Christ’s sacrifice, redemption, and love — while also supporting a mission that aligns deeply with our family’s values.
These small but intentional gifts often spark meaningful conversations with our kids and help keep Easter grounded in faith, even amid all the fun.

Easter Basket Fillers by Age
Easter Basket Fillers for Toddlers and Young Kids
For toddlers and young children, Easter basket fillers should be playful, practical, and age-appropriate. I love including items that encourage creativity, outdoor play, and imagination — especially as we head into warmer spring weather.
Think:
- Simple toys they’ll actually play with
- Art supplies or crayons
- Books or puzzles
- Spring or summer accessories
These types of gifts feel fun in the moment but don’t create unnecessary clutter later.
Easter Basket Fillers for Older Kids and Tweens
Shopping for older kids and tweens can feel trickier, but Easter baskets are a great opportunity to include items they’ll genuinely use.
I like to lean into:
- Pajamas or loungewear
- Beauty or skincare favorites (age-appropriate)
- Books or journals
- Small accessories or seasonal clothing
At this stage, baskets don’t need to be overflowing — a few thoughtfully chosen items go a long way.
Final Thoughts: Keeping Easter Intentional
Easter baskets don’t have to be big or extravagant to be meaningful. A few thoughtful choices, personalized details, and one faith-centered gift can turn a simple basket into a cherished tradition.
My hope is that this post helps spark ideas for your own family — whether you’re creating baskets for little ones, teens, or even hosting Easter gatherings in your home. As always, I believe the most beautiful celebrations are the ones rooted in love, intention, and connection.
