2024 Goal Setting

Goals are my thing. I love a goal. When I have a clear and specific goal, I will go after it until it’s accomplished. Every year after Christmas, I start envisioning what the next year might look like for me. I take time to sit down and think through my goals and write them down. This helps me make them more clear. I have some tips to get you started with goal setting, and at the end of the post you’ll find a downloadable goal-setting worksheet!

My Goals

Below are some of my goals in 2024…I like to keep them to 5-6 at the most. If I create too many, it seems overwhelming. I only make goals I know I can accomplish in the course of a year. Then, I break down these lists to create smaller, more manageable goals. For example, “Improve Amazon Strorefront” could have lots of mini goals or action items attached to it, such as “create collages for Amazon products,” “update lists,” “delete old photos,” etc.

Business Goals

  1. Improve Link Strategy
  2. Improve Amazon Storefront
  3. Create a 2024 content strategy
  4. Long term vision for blog

Personal Goals

  1. Plan 2 fun family trips
  2. Save money (I have specific numeric goals for how much I want to save!)
  3. Work out consistently twice a week or more
  4. Complete a diet/partial fast in January
  5. Read my Bible app daily
  6. Monthly volunteering/serving at church

I have found that if you put a timeframe on your goal, it gives you the motivation and urgency to complete it within that time frame. If it’s a weekly or monthly consistency goal, then add the minimum amount of time you plan to dedicate to your goal, like twice a week, for example. So you’ll notice I have a goal to read my Bible daily, and work out twice weekly, and to volunteer monthly. This puts a plan in motion to start accomplishing these things right away, because I have a deadline.

You can also attach numbers to your goals. For example, your goal could be, “I want to save X amount of dollars by end of 2024. Which means I need to save X amount monthly.” Having a quantitative number gives you a way to add a check box and mark it done once you’ve accomplished it. I like to write out my goals with check boxes next to them so I can mark them complete! You can also use your iPhone “Reminders” app and create a list for your 2024 goals! I love the checkbox feature in this built-in app.

Reader Goals

I polled my readers to see what their 2024 goals are. Here are the responses:

  • Try a new recipe every week
  • Start my own business
  • Become a foster parent
  • Exercise daily
  • Loose weight
  • Travel
  • Read daily devotions
  • Read and write more
  • Establish a legit morning routine

These are all awesome goals! Take it a step further by putting a timeframe, number you want to achieve, or schedule to it, and you’ll start seeing yourself making that goal happen!
