“Tea for Two” Babydoll Brunch
This week, we celebrated Betsy’s second birthday with the sweetest “Tea for Two” babydoll brunch. I truly can’t believe my baby is already two — the past couple of years have flown by. Betsy has grown so much recently, and this felt like her first birthday party she could really understand and enjoy.
I wanted the day to feel special — a moment we’ll always remember.
A two-year-old birthday is such a sweet milestone, and a “Tea for Two” theme felt like the perfect fit. This party blended imaginative baby-doll play with the charm of a tea party, creating an experience that was fun for the little ones and enjoyable for the adults too. If you’re planning a toddler or young girls’ birthday, this theme is timeless, playful, and incredibly memorable.

Invitations
Setting the tone early makes a big difference, and themed invitations are such a fun way to do that. For this party, I used an invitation template from Etsy featuring soft watercolor details — teacups, teapots, and baby-doll elements that tied perfectly into the theme.
The template was easy to edit online and felt custom without the custom price. I simply texted the invitation, but you could also print it on cardstock and mail it if you prefer. The artist offers coordinating watercolor designs, which you’ll see echoed throughout the party decor. Shop the invite here.

Picking a Party Venue
I hosted the party inside using our kitchen and living room, which made decorating the night before much easier and allowed flexibility to move things around if needed. I temporarily moved our kitchen table to make room for a kids-sized table and the most darling chiavari chairs so everyone could sit together comfortably.
For decor, I leaned into soft pastels and classic tea-party elements. I opted for paper teacups and plates so we didn’t have to worry about breakables — a must with toddlers. For centerpieces, I used my mom’s silver tea set filled with fresh florals, which added charm and sentiment to the food spread. Here are all the supplies I used from Amazon.

Centerpieces can feature silver or vintage teapots filled with fresh flowers, while doll accessories scattered around add to the charm. I used my mother’s silver tea set filled with florals for a centerpiece on the food spread.

Party Activities
Tea Party Crafts
A simple craft is the perfect way to gather everyone together at the start of the party. I set up a craft station with age-appropriate supplies and themed coloring sheets — including this adorable puppy tea party design. Easy, low-stress activities like this are ideal for toddlers.
Dress-Up Station
The dress-up station was such a hit. I provided pearl necklaces, gloves, hats, and fans — accessories the kids could enjoy during the party and take home afterward. I displayed everything on a wicker tea cart and added a small sign in a scalloped frame to pull the area together.
Baby Doll Care Station
One of the highlights of the party was the baby doll care station. I set up a small table with doll essentials, cradles, and a wicker pram in the living room. The girls loved caring for their babies together and stayed engaged here longer than I expected. It was sweet, imaginative, and encouraged so much social play.
You can provide a variety of outfits and accessories for the dolls, allowing the children to engage in imaginative play. Encourage guests to bring their favorite doll to join in the fun! The little ones loved this and played for a long time with their babies together!

Tea Party Decorations
Food Table Decorations
Finding tea-party-specific decorations can be tricky, so I mixed online finds with items I already owned. For the food spread, I used my mom’s silver tea set, Juliska teacups, and several scalloped serving pieces. I also used my Cricut to create paper decorations for the cake topper, signage, and cupcake toppers.

Kids Table Decorations
Decorating the kids table was so fun and easy! I started with a cute check tablecloth, added a moss teacup centerpiece, and put the scalloped paper plates and coloring packets at each place setting. I ensured each chair had a tea party hat to wear too!

Entryway Decorations
For the entryway, I styled a small welcome table with a printed Etsy sign, party favors, a ginger jar, and a bud vase from Sea Marie designs. I also found the cutest teapot party favor boxes, which doubled as decor and a take-home treat.

Tea Party Food and Drink
The Kid-Friendly Brunch Menu
For brunch, I focused on foods that were both toddler-friendly and easy to serve:
- Mini sandwiches (PB&J and ham & cheese from Ousler’s)
- Chick-fil-A chicken minis
- Fruit kabobs
- Yogurt parfaits in mini cups
- Mini muffins and pastries
Everything was bite-sized, familiar, and mess-friendly.

Tea Party Treats
No tea party is complete without sweets. We served decorated sugar cookies, macarons, tea cakes with themed toppers, and a small birthday cake topped with a custom Cricut-made cake topper. It made the dessert table feel festive without being overwhelming.

Beverages
For beverages, we served kid-friendly “tea,” which included lemonade, fruit-infused water, and juice! We ensured all drinks are served in child-friendly paper teacups to avoid spills and accidents.
For adults, we offered mimosas, coffee, and of course hot tea of their choice.

Final Thoughts
This “Tea for Two” babydoll brunch was such a joyful way to celebrate Betsy’s second birthday. It was playful, sweet, and full of little moments I’ll always treasure. If you’re planning a toddler birthday party, this theme is simple to execute, endlessly charming, and perfect for creating meaningful memories.
